Handwoven recycled silk yarn with tan kettle dyed wool yarn from Uruguay. Himalaya recycled silk yarn is made of mill end sari silk fabric. The colors are random with no pattern. Sort of an orange red shows up in this scarf quite often.
I have laid in the weave cut up bits of light blue cotton t-shirt. Makes for a nice dash of light blue here and there in the scarf. Totally unique.
By purchasing this product, you are supporting women's development groups in Nepal who are producing this recycled silk. They spin it into usable yarn in their own homes. You are also supporting Uruguayan village women who dye and spin the wool yarn in this scarf.
Each scarf comes with a free lavender sachet. Lavender helps to keep moths, bugs, etc. away from wool and silk.
Scarf measures 64" (162cm) long and 4" (10cm) wide with 4" (10cm) fringe on each end.
Hand wash, lay flat to dry.
